The Dhaka dynamites is a franchise cricket team that plays in the Bangladesh premier league. It is one of the seven participating team in the BPL. Its headquarter is located at the Sher-E-Bangla cricket stadium in Mirpur which has a capacity of about 26000 people. The captain of the Dhaka dynamites is Shakib al hasan and coach is Khaled Mahmud. It was originally established in 2012 as the Dhaka gladiators. It was dissolved in the 2013 after the second edition and current ownership belongs to BEXIMCO group.
In the first two season of the BPL Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was the captain and Ian Pont was the head coach. They were defeated by the Khulna Royal Bengals in their first match but then won next three consecutive matches. Dhaka gladiators beat the Barisal Burners in the final of the BPL,2012 to become the champion. In the second season Dhaka Gladiators bought the Shakib Al Hasan who at the time was the most expensive player in the tournament. They also bought MashrafeMortaza and wicket keeper AnamulHaque. Others new members being purchased are Chris Gayle, Keiron Pollard, Luke Wright, Owais Shah, Darren Stevens and Josh Cobb. In the second season they played a total no. of 14 games winning 11 and loosing only 3. At that time their strongest competitor was Sylhet Royals. The owners of the franchise is BEXIMCO group that is company involved in cloth production. It produces chemicals, jute product, pharmaceuticals and marine foods with also interest in real state sector.
The 2017-2018 BPL season which is also known as the BPL season 5 is the fifth season of the Bangladesh premier league, the most famous cricket league held in Bangladesh. The league will be governed by the Bangladesh cricket board and will feature seven different teams belonging to the largest cities of the Bangladesh. The league will commence from 4th November and will end on 12th December, 2017. The first game of the tournament will be played between Dhaka Dynamites and Sylhet sixers at the Sylhet international stadium. The Sylhet sixers will play under new censorship and management from this season. Barisal Bulls will not take part in this season after they failed in financial terms.
This season of the BPL will not represent Pakistani players except retired on a permanent basis due to their domestic league. The draft of the BPL 2017 was held on 16th September,2017 in which a team can buy 7 local players and 2 international players. In this season a new rule will be followed under which a team can play 3 to 5 overseas players instead of 4. In the BPL draft a total of 66 players were signed for the tournament that includes 51 local Bangladesh players and 15 overseas players. Rangpur Riders signed the most no. of players with 16 players included in the team.
A total 46 matches will be played in the tournament with playoffs and final will be played at Dhaka. The matches of the tournament will be held at Zohur ahmed choudhary, Sher-E-Bangla cricket stadium and Sylhet international cricket stadium. The Seven teams taking part in the tournament are Chittagong Vikings, Comilla Victorians, Dhaka Dynamites, Khulna Titans, Rajshahi Kings, Rangpur Riders and Sylhet Sixers. The first match of the tournament will be played between Dhaka Dynamites and Sylhet Sixers.

This third placed player has played 8 matches and taken 9 wickets, bowling at an average of 21.66 at an economy of 7.54. His batting average has been 43 at a strike rate of 182.97.
Standing at the 4th position, he has played 7 matches and gained a score of 265 runs. The average of this player has been 44.17 at a strike rate of 133.83 and this has let him get the Orange Cap in this season.
His consistent performances has let him to the top rank playing 8 grand matches, scoring 241 runs at a batting average of 60.25 at a strike rate of 138.5 along with the bowling average of 21.5 pulling off 8 wickets and has received the orange cap for the same.

Batting with the full on aggression, Hashim Amla (72) and Thisara Perera (47) went on to reach the target of 175-runs in 19.5 overs that helped them sail through an intriguing final game on this Friday.
The Sri Lankan all-rounder, Thisara Perera bowled the game hitting of the towering sixes off the critical balls while steering the World XI achieve an exciting seven-wicket win over team Pakistan during their second Twenty20 match on Wednesday. Perera hit an awesome score of 47 in 19-balls and remained not out hitting five sky-scrapping sixes.
On the other hand, Hashim Amla finished at a not out score of 72 off 55 balls that left the World XI reach a 175-run target, levelling the three-match series by 1-1 at the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore.
Earlier to this match, Pakistan had already registered a 20-run win on Tuesday during their first match marking the return of international cricket to Pakistan.
Chasing the score of 174 scored by Pakistan, the Left-hander Perera outraged his score campaign, smashing sixes off the various bowls bowled in his lane. Amla, scored his seventh international Twenty20 half-century and with two sixes and five fours managed to add 69 runs while playing for the fourth wicket in just 35 balls.
This partnership led them to lift the World XI even after losing their top player in the series of Tamim Iqbal (23), Tim Paine (10) and skipper Faf du Plessis (20). Babar Azam (45), Ahmed Shehzad (43) and Shoaib Malik (39) even though started well but couldn’t sail through.
The opener, Fakhar Zaman lost his control at a score of 21 in the fifth over itself, just before Shehzad and Azam’s 59-run stand playing for the second wicket.
Malik smashed two sixes during the last over prior to his departure. During this 23-ball hits, Malik has managed to become the leading run scorer playing for Pakistan in Twenty20 international cricket, moving ahead of Umar Akmal's total of 1,690 runs in 88 matches by a margin of two runs with a score of 1,692 in 88 matches.
Perera (2-23) and West Indian spinner Badree (2-31) emerged as the major wicket takers for the visitors.
